It was a day of celebration today for the Cameron’s as a triumphant poll victory was announced and maybe not one you would expect. Rather than Mr Cameron celebrating victory over t Labour or the Lib Dems it was Mrs Cameron who was leading the way as she topped a style poll of the top ten best-dressed women in politics, pushing Michelle Obama and Carla Bruni Sarkozy down into second and third.
Mrs Cameron’s style award came courtesy of the MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk website, which asked 1,334 women between the ages of 18 and 30 to examine images of politically-involved women on the global stage, and to choose the three most stylish.
They were also asked to choose what they most admired about each candidate, with 82% of the website's browsers selecting Samantha Cameron for her "overall sophistication".
Sarah Brown came in fifth place, behind Nick Clegg’s wife, Miriam González Durántez. The poll was conducted after the website received an increased number of searches for fashion items worn by the Prime Minister’s wife and America’s First Lady, showing how increasingly important the role of the politicians wife is becoming.
Mrs Cameron, who is pregnant with the couple’s fourth child, wins praise for her no frills-no fuss approach to dressing.
